The Interpretation Of Dreams

Image
Psychology Professor Dr. Jordan B. Peterson talks about 'The Interpretation Of Dreams' by Freud and the expansion by C. G. Jung on Freud's theory. Jung and Freud disagreed over the fundamentals and derivatives of dreams. Freud believed that we can learn more about a person through their unconscious as opposed to through their conscious mind. Freud believed that when we are in a conscious state of mind, we do not act upon our deepest desires because of the considerations of reality and morality. But when we are sleeping, the forces that make us more reserved are weakened, meaning we can live our desires through our dreams. Freud concluded that our dreams are able to access repressed or anxiety provoking thoughts – mainly sexual desires – that are otherwise not acted upon because of the fear of embarrassment. Defense mechanisms allow a thought or desire to sneak into our dreams in a symbolic form. Someone dreaming of a large stick, Freud would view them dreaming of a penis. U

Exploring Consciousness Through Dreams (Part 2)

What is liminal dreaming? Liminal Dreaming, which is the space between awake and asleep, hypnagogia, when you’re falling asleep, and hypnopompia when you’re waking up. So, liminal dream states are some of the most unusual dream states. I’ve had a lot of background working with dreams, lucid dreams and oneirogens, things that promote vivid dreams, different kinds of dream work. And a few years ago I started getting really involved in liminal dreams. It started with an experience where I was lying in bed and I realized that basically my body had fallen asleep. And my mind was still awake and I was having this dream and it had a little bit of narrative, but it’s kind of non-narrative. And that experience got me really interested and I started exploring a little bit and realize that hypnagogia and hypnopompia, they’re experiences that everyone has, we all go through them and they’re super weird. It all depends on brain waves: Most brainwave states and measured by EEG, are marked by one sin

Humans have an inherent drive to play with our experience of the world. Yet in our explorations of consciousness we frequently ignore the potential of the original altered state: the dream. The Oneironauticum was founded in January, 2008, by a group of dreamers dedicated to consciousness experimentation through the use of oneirogens: any herb, root, sound, scent, technology, practice, or food that promotes vivid dreaming. During each Oneironauticum event, an in-person group gathers to sleep in the same place and try an oneirogen. On that same night, people around the globe use the same oneirogen. Nine years of experimentation has generated a catalogue of oneirogens and effects, searchable on the Oneironauticum site. Lucid dreaming can become a Buddhist practice, hypnagogic dreams can harness creativity, while hypnapompic sleep paralysis allows others to work with fear. The talk will outline the informal research conducted via the Oneironauticum on oneirogens and dream as tool of consci

Virtual Reality Theory (Part 2)

Tom Campbell’s model of Consciousness derives Quantum Mechanics and Relativity, eliminates quantum weirdness, and builds a scientific foundation under much of what was previously deemed 'paranormal'. This comprehensive, logical, and scientific explanation of both objective and subjective reality perfectly defines a Big TOE. My Big TOE is based on the understandings that all of our reality as we experience it is based upon Consciousness and that we exist in a non physical subjective reality, rather than an objective physical reality. This strongly challenges the belief traps held by conventional and main stream Western science by treating our world as a Virtual Reality rather than an external, physical objective reality. My Big TOE extends the concept to include the existence of multiple Virtual Reality frames within which we exist simultaneously. It highlights that our Physical Matter Reality (PMR) is no more than a set of constraints defined by rules of physics that limit the

Dark Energy is often discussed and tested within the mainstream physics community from the physical rule set. Tom Campbell takes this subject further by means of his MBT virtual reality theory. In February of 2003, Tom published the My Big TOE trilogy (MBT) which represents the results and conclusions of his scientific exploration of the nature of existence. This overarching model of reality, mind, and consciousness explains the paranormal as well as the normal, places spirituality within a scientific context, solves a host of scientific paradoxes and provides direction for those wishing to personally experience an expanded awareness of All That Is. The MBT reality model explains metaphysics, spirituality, love, and human purpose at the most fundamental level, provides a complete theory of consciousness, and solves the outstanding fundamental physics problems of our time, deriving both relativity theory and quantum mechanics from first principles – something traditional physics cannot
