Synchronicity And Precognitive Dreams

Image
Synchronicity is a term originally coined by psychologist Carl Jung that refers to deeply meaningful coincidences which mysteriously occur in your life. When you experience synchronicity, you’ll have experiences that seem far too significant to be mere day-to-day serendipitous encounters. Some people describe these as ‘freak encounters', ‘miracles', ‘signs from the heavens', guidance from one’s personal spirit guides, or even mystical instances of Soul connection. Synchronicity can manifest in an endless number of forms. For example, those who experience synchronious events usually report seeing or hearing meaningful names, numbers, words, or symbols. What exactly is synchronicity? Let’s examine some popular world views: 1. Hindus believe synchronicity is a manifestation of Brahman or the fundamental connection of all living things within the universe 2. Behavioral Economists would classify synchronicity as a form of confirmation bias. For example, if you’re told to look fo

The Instinct Toward Greater Consciousness

Image
We each have an instinct toward greater consciousness, and our spiritual practice is a way of responding to that. Adyashanti explores how the spiritual impulse originates and the importance of bringing our consciousness into the depths of our unconscious. Quotes from this Video: “When the mind is dreaming, it is endlessly talking to itself, and sometimes the way it is talking to itself seems to be completely disconnected from anything that’s happening right now.” “We’re not only dreaming at night. That’s one of the things that contemplative introspection shows you, and at the beginning it’s unsettling.” “So much of our narrative is just like your dream in the middle of the night. It’s trying to work things out—things you felt, things you experienced, things you heard—and you don’t know how it’s doing it, because it often just sounds like unconnected self-talk.” “Contemplative practice is a way of taking your consciousness down deep into your unconscious—that’s what it’s really there fo

The Energy Of The Crowd

Image
Not everyone likes crowds but there is an energy that comes along with them. Be it when you go to see your favourite band, sports team, artist, or show, there is an energy that comes with being part of that crowd. Think about a concert you have been to where everyone is singing along with the band on stage, how great does that feel, even though you might not know the 20,000 people singing with you! You are part of that experience and let me tell you that is some of the best energy you can soak up. Consciousness And The Imagination

Image
There’s a traditional view that science might involve what we might call convergent thinking, thinking which proceeds logically step by step while artistic creativity involved divergent thinking, thinking which proceeds by leaps and bounds and intuition, but actually there are common elements to both these types of activity. Both science and more artistic forms of creativity involve conjuring with the hypothetical, with things which might be the case and they both phases of intuitive thinking, leaps in the dark.  Just such a mix of hypothesizing and intuition helped to elucidate the double helix structure of DNA. Two spirals, each carrying it’s sequence of chemical components called A, T, G and C, intricately interwoven to develop the building bricks of life. The shape is quite famous now but it eluded scientists for ages until in the nineteen fifties research by Jim Watson, Francis Crick and the late Rosalind Franklin finally led to the revolutionary discovery of the structure.
